New production plant inaugurated in China

After a planning and construction time of only one year, the new HOERBIGER plant in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, was opened on December 12, 2023. The modern building pools the resources and expertise acquired over decades and marks another milestone in HOERBIGER's history.

In the presence of officials and government representatives, invited guests and executives of the HOERBIGER Group, the ceremonial inauguration of the new production site in Changzhou took place in mid-December. Within an impressively short period of only twelve months, a highly modern plant was built in the Chinese industrial metropolis, which now combines the production, service business and operations of the HOERBIGER Compression Division and Safety Business Unit under one roof. "Thanks to good cooperation with the local authorities and partners we can better support our Chinese customers by manufacturing our products here locally," emphasized Wolfgang Sautter, Member of the Executive Board and Managing Director of the Compression Division, in his opening speech. The new production facility for 250 employees not only sets new standards in terms of sustainability, it is also an important part of HOERBIGER's business strategy and a clear commitment to continued activities in China.

HOERBIGER decided to enter China as early as 1995 and opened its first production facility in Shanghai 28 years ago. "Back then, the decision to enter China was a big step for HOERBIGER and a very important strategic decision, driven by the country's dynamic market, incredible talent pool and unwavering spirit of progress," CEO Thorsten Kahlert told to the guests. China is one of HOERBIGER's most important markets with high potential for long-term growth – especially when it comes to future topics such as hydrogen, emission reduction and digitalization. "This building marks a new chapter for HOERBIGER. It's a testament to the creativity and commitment of our teams and to the trust of our Chinese customers," said Kahlert.
